Frequently Asked Questions
How long should my treatment be?
1
It depends on what type of treatment you are looking for! I generally recommend longer appointments for folks that would like deeper pressure or a more in depth treatment. Below you can see my personal recommendations but remember each RMT is different!
30 minutes - one area of focus i.e. neck and shoulders
45 minutes - back, neck and shoulders OR legs and arms
60 minutes - one area of focus, full body with light to medium pressure, great for a first appointment!
75 minutes - two areas of focus, full body with medium to deep pressure
90 minutes - full body with any pressure, 2-3 areas of focus
Cupping - Added to a regular massage treatment, helps get deeper into tissue in a shorter amount of time
*These are just estimates, we can always discuss what works best with the time you book after our first meeting!
Do you do direct billing?
2
Currently I am not handling the direct billing to insurance companies for our patients. With each appointment I will e-mail you a receipt with all of the necessary items to submit to your insurance and if there are any issues please feel free to contact me to resolve it as soon as possible!
What is cupping?
3
Cupping is an add-on treatment that is based on the practice of traditional Chinese medicine. In my treatments, cupping is generally used on individuals who have chronic muscle tension to promote blood flow to the area of complaint. I find it particularly helpful for those who feel like massage sometimes doesn’t get deep enough or for those that would like a “deeper” treatment, without the added pressure or pain.
When do I book again?
4
Generally I recommend a booking schedule after the first treatment. For general maintenance this can look like a return visit once every 4-6 weeks. For more specific complaints, 2-3 weeks gives us enough time for your body to rest, recover and pin point what worked with the previous treatment and if anything needs to be adjusted moving forward.
